Independence, evidence and full transparency.
The policies that govern how Newella Compare tests products, calculates scores and works with manufacturers and retailers.
How We Test
Products are independently sourced through retail purchase, verified market data or manufacturer submission. Each category has a published, repeatable testing protocol. Receiving a product sample never influences our testing, scoring, rankings or recommendations.
Our Scoring System
Every Newella Score is a weighted, transparent, category-specific calculation across Performance, Value, Reliability, Ease of Use and Build Quality. The Confidence Score reflects how complete and verified the underlying evidence is.
Editorial Policy
Editorial decisions — including which products to test, what to feature and which to award — are made by Newella editors alone. Commercial teams have no input into scores, rankings or written conclusions.
Affiliate Disclosure
Newella Compare may earn a commission when readers buy through retailer links. Commissions do not affect Newella Scores, awards or rankings. Affiliate links are clearly labelled.
Independence Policy
Every Newella Score is based on transparent testing criteria and is never influenced by advertising, affiliate commissions or manufacturer relationships. Conflicts of interest are publicly disclosed.
Manufacturer Submissions
Verified manufacturers may submit products and structured data for independent testing. Submission grants access to the testing queue and a right of factual reply — never editorial influence, paid placement or adjusted scores.
Verified Manufacturer Programme
Newella Verified means product identity is confirmed, specifications verified, manufacturer/retailer data checked and warranty information reviewed. Verified does not automatically mean Recommended.
Questions about a specific test or score?
Editorial corrections and methodology questions are welcomed. We publish material updates when they affect a score or recommendation.
